Mark Russell and Steve Pugh Team-Up for ‘The Flintstones’
Writer Mark Russell (Prez) will team-up with artist Steve Pugh to bring to life Fred, Wilma, Barney, Betty, Pebbles, and Bamm-Bamm in The Flintstones #1 on sale July 6th.
The Flintstones #1 will be a 40-page extra-sized premiere issue introducing readers to the town of Bedrock, where Paleolithic humans dine on artisanal prepared mammoth after shopping at the Neandertall & Big Men’s Clothing Stores. They get their latest news via cave painting, and folks drive foot-powered cars.
The story centers around Fred and Barney as they are sent by Mr. Slate on a mission to show some Neanderthals a night on the the town in hopes of luring them into this new system of “working for a living” – in Mr. Slate’s quarry, of course! Fred, The Flintstones, and the Rubbles will finally learn how Bedrock’s “one percent” live in this satirical take on life in the world’s first civilization.
The Flintstones #1 will have four different covers from Steve Pugh, Ivan Reis, Walt Simonson, and Dustin Nguyen.
