Today’s Indie Comic of the Day is Douglas Ernst, Timothy Lim, and Brett R. Smith’s Soulfinder: Demon’s Match. It is currently raising funds on IndieGoGo.
Soulfinder: Demon’s Match follows the story of Catholic priest Father Patrick Retter who begins investigating a number of murders in the small town of Steepleton, Maryland.
Retter will be aided by a young detective as they discover a “sinister cult and the demons it worships.”
Also aiding Father Retter is a mysterious figure who introduces him to a group of exorcists known as the Soulfinders.
Soulfinder: Demon’s Match will be 56- pages in length. All of the art has already been completed. However, there will be stretch goals boosting the entire book to 64 pages. Those stretch goals also include improved page quality, square-binding, and improved cover stock.
The Soulfinder: Demon’s Match Team
The team behind Soulfinder: Demon’s Match includes Douglas Ernst, a professional journalist who currently works for The Washington Times. He also has been covering comic books for almost a decade on his blog and YouTube channel.
Ernst is joined by Timothy Lim, who has produced the children’s book Thump: The First Bundred Days. He’s also worked on Trump’s Space Force, My Hero Magademia, and Black Hops USA GI.
They are joined by Brett R. Smith who will provide colors. Smith adapted Peter Schweizer’s Clinton Cash book into a graphic novel. He was also the creative director and editor for Thump: The First Bundred Days. He’s also previously worked on Superman.
Finally, Dave Dorman will provide cover art for the book. Dorman is a renowned artist working on iconic properties like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Aliens, Predator, Highlander, G.I. Joe, Xena: Warrior Princess, and more.

There are a number of options to back Soulfinder: Demon’s Match. They include a basic package for the hardcover book. Other options include a gold leafed card featuring Dave Dorman’s artwork along with a prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel and a signed copy of the book by Douglas Ernst, Timothy Lim, and Brett R. Smith.
The IndieGoGo campaign is aiming to raise $10,000. They have currently raised $5,372 from 116 backers. As of this writing the campaign still has 30 days to go!
