**Warning Spoilers for Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock #1 Below**

The Infinity Countdown is almost upon us. Following the release of Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock #1, Marvel has released an explainer for the Infinity Stones, which were previously referred to as the Soul Gems and later the Infinity Gems in the comics.

Infinity Circuit

Not only does the explainer, called the Infinity Circuit, describe each of the Infinity Stones, it also shows off who is currently wielding them. Currently four Infinity Gems have been discovered. They are held by Nebula, Drax, Wolverine, and Thanos.

Wolverine holds the Space Stone which allows the wielder to teleport through space. Drax wields the Power Stone, which greatly increases the user’s physical power. Thanos and Nebula control the Reality Stone which allows the user access to the Marvel Multiverse. There are still three Stones left to be discovered. The Soul Stone, the Mind Stone, and the Time Stone are all still missing from the chart. However, in Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock #1, Kang reveals that Magus will wield the Soul Stone.

Not only does Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock #1 reveal the wielder of the Soul Stone, but it also shows that Wolverine, Drax, and Nebula won’t be holding onto their Infinity Stones forever. Kang the Conqueror awakens Adam Warlock and brings him to his citadel at the end of time. And it’s not for nefarious purposes. Kang needs Warlock’s help in order to prevent the a truly horrible future for the Marvel Universe. A future, where even Kang is threatened.

Kang shows Adam Warlock a vision of the future which he describes as Infinity’s End. A number of Marvel heroes lay defeated and dead. Nova has even been impaled on a tree and the Silver Surfer lies broken next to Spider-Man. Only one Marvel hero appears to be alive. That hero is Gamora and she kneels at the feet of the mysterious villain.

Infinity End

In order to prevent, this future from occurring Kang sends Adam Warlock back in time to Ancient Egypt. He will have to slip into the future without anyone noticing. He is the only hope to prevent Kang’s death in the future and stop the mysterious enemy from wielding the Power Infinite.

Infinity Countdown #1 by Gerry Duggan and artist Aaron Kuder arrives in comic book shops on March 7, 2018.
