She may not be done with them but they’re done with her. Amber Heard disclosed in court, on the stand, during the ongoing defamation trial against her that she had been let go from her contract with DC Films.

In response to questioning from Johnny Depp’s lawyer, Camille Vasquez, Heard said, “They released me from my contract and I’ve fought to stay in it. And they kept me in it, I just don’t know how much I’m in actually, the final cut,” added Heard.

She would later add, “I don’t know if I will even be in the final cut or how much I will be. It was difficult to stay in the movie.”

As relieved as some are going to be by this testimony, they haven’t cut her from Aquaman 2 completely, which is another detail she shared under oath.

When asked about Aquaman 2 by her lawyer Elaine Bredehoft, Heard relayed, “I had to fight really hard to stay in the movie. They didn’t want to include me in the film.”

After an objection, she would be asked if she ultimately filmed for her role as Mera. Heard replied, “A very pared down version of that role, yes.”

The actress then went on to reveal a fight scene she was initially all set for won’t be among those minutes as it turns out they were cutting scenes beginning with the script.

Heard relayed, “They took away a lot of … I was given a script and given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it, that had depicted my character and another character – without giving away any spoilers – the two characters fighting with one another.”

“They basically took a bunch out of my role,” she claimed. “They didn’t… They just removed a bunch.”

We’re not above spoilers but can only speculate that Heard is possibly talking about Karshon the Shark who is confirmed for the sequel, played by Indya Moore – likely confirming a rumor Mera has, or had, some form of competition.

That’s not saying Moore/Karshon is replacing Heard/Mera but it could happen which wouldn’t bother over 4 million signees to the infamous Change.org petition that wants to see her gone.

She doubled down on the idea that her role in the film was significantly cut several times on the stand, including when she stated, “As I said, I don’t know if I will even be in the final cut or how much I will be. It was difficult to stay in the movie.”

Heard confirms a prevalent rumor that her screen time was reduced due to her bad publicity. It was reported months ago that her appearance in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom consequently amounts to 10 minutes.

Scooper Grace Randolph detailed back in April, “I hear Amber Heard has less than 10 min of screentime in Aquaman 2.”

As for those petitioners, it seems they succeeded when, as she vehemently mentioned, Heard tried to stay in the film – and with DC but it was not to be. Her salary for each film came to light in further testimony, and her contract netted her $1 million for Aquaman and $2 million for Aquaman 2.

Additionally, she was paid $200k an episode for The Stand series, an adaptation of the previously adapted Stephen King novel that also starred the equally troubled Justice League actor Ezra Miller.

Miller’s a different story, though there will be no more of those millions in her foreseeable future. How do you feel about that? Are you one of the 4 million celebrants? Drop an answer in the comments.
