Casting Call for Avengers 4 Hints At Major Death Scene
Details for Avengers: Infinity Wars, let alone the unnamed Avengers 4 have been few and far between. With a twitter photo here, and casting notices we’re slowly learning more details surrounding the movie.
One of those notices seems to indicate the death of a major character in the movie. Thanks to a Facebook post by Central Georgia Casting:
Mourners: Looking for men and women over the age of 18, all ethnicities, to portray mourners. Especially looking for good character looks and expressive faces. This will be photo selected by the film’s directors! Size restrictions: Men no larger than 44 coat, women dress size 0-8. FOR NEW FACES ONLY! You cannot have worked on this project previously, or be booked on upcoming days. NO EXCEPTIONS!
This films Monday, October 23 in the Atlanta area. A mandatory fitting will be required in College Park from Wed 10/18 – Fri 10/20. MUST be available for BOTH fitting & filming!
However, it appears the post has since been deleted off the Central Georgia Casting Facebook page. It’s not a surprise the casting wasn’t taken down. Marvel has been extremely secretive with their Avengers movie. They quickly scrubbed a leaked Avengers: Infinity War trailer from the internet and a number of actors reported not even seeing a full script – only seeing their parts.
We can still speculate on what this casting means. The word to focus on is “Mourners.” The question is what will this mean for Avengers 4? Could we see a version of Civil War play out with the death of Captain America? It’s been clear since 2008’s Iron Man, the comics are more of an inspiration instead of word for word source material. And throughout each of the Marvel films bits and pieces of familiar story arcs have played major roles within the Cinematic Universe as a whole.
If we look back to Captain America: Civil War even the iconic fight between Iron Man and Captain America was heavily influenced by the Civil War comics.

I believe it’s quite possible that we’ll see a version of the finale of the comic book version of Civil War play out in Avengers 4. In the Civil War comic, Captain America dies at the hands of a sniper outside of a courthouse. His murder leaves Tony Stark with an extreme weight of guilt on his shoulders. That scene is chalk full of motivations and direction the movies can take advantage of to move the story forward into Avengers 4. While Captain America might not die by the hands of a sniper in Avengers 4, his death at the hands of Thanos would leave open a much-needed position of moral conscience on the Avengers lineup. That spot could be filled by Captain Marvel taking Captain America’s place in the Avengers moving forward.
Regardless of the direction, this route if taken will affect the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in many ways. What do you think, is Captain America the most likely candidate to die? Or will another Avenger fall? Take the poll above.
