Daredevil Actor Charlie Cox Debunks Spider-Man: No Way Home Fan Theories

Daredevil actor Charlie Cox recently debunked fan theories spinning out of the recent Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer.

Numerous fans speculated that Cox appeared in the trailer as lawyer Matt Murdock when Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is brought into an office for questioning.

The scene in question shows Parker looking at some kind of case file when a man wearing a white dress shirt and tie slams a bunch of files down on a table.

YouTuber Warren Thompson of Cosmic Wonder claimed, “I totally believe this is Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home!”

Twitter user sirius_malware also questioned, “Matt Murdock is that you????”

Well, Cox recently debunked the theory that those are his arms.

He told ComicBook.com, “I can promise you those are not my forearms.” He added, “Mighty fine forearms; they are not my forearms.”

While Cox debunked the theory that those are his forearms, he didn’t shoot down the possibility that he was in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In an interview with Steve Varley, Cox played coy on whether or not he was in the film.

He told Varley, “I wouldn’t want to ruin something either way. So, it makes me a little anxious in that regard. It’s a difficult thing to talk about. Everyone, myself included, is just going to have to wait and see what happens.”

Scooper Mikey Sutton claims that Cox is in the film as Matt Murdock. Sutton writes at Geekosity, “Insiders reveal that Marvel Studios want Charlie Cox to be a surprise; well, to the general public, that is.”

As for his role in the film he notes that “he will be Parker’s lawyer to defend him on the case.” Sutton also added that “he won’t be in costume in Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
