Did Mark Ruffalo Just Post an Avengers: Endgame Teaser?

Mark Ruffalo took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to ask, “Has anyone seen the Avengers?” and proceeded to share a clip of the Avengers from Marvel Spain’s official account showing them in disguise throughout a number of previous films.

Take a look:

The montage shows off Tony Stark, Captain America, Black Widow, Ant-Man, Nick Fury, Bucky Barnes, Wasp, Hank Pym, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and concludes with Thor. There are a number of Avengers including Ruffalo’s own Hulk as well as Hawkeye, Vision, and Spider-Man. Black Panther and Doctor Strange were also missing, but I don’t think they are technically Avengers yet in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans had a laugh with Ruffalo’s question and the video with many of them referencing Thanos’ snap that turned many of the Avengers to dust in Avengers: Infinity War.

Others took issue with the idea that the Avengers could hide by putting on some glasses and wearing a hat.

The Avengers Have Disbanded Following Infinity War

While this might be a stretch, it’s quite possible that Ruffalo isn’t just having a little fun with the Avengers in disguise montage. It’s quite possible he could be teasing the idea that the Avengers don’t really exist as an organization in the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Avengers: Infinity War.

In the trailer, the Avengers’ facilities look abandoned. There only appears to be Captain America and Black Widow hanging out in one of the bases before Scott Lang shows up on their door. There isn’t any security besides a camera, and Cap questions, “is this an old message?” One would think if the Avengers were still organized, they would have some sort of security guards around the building. There’s even a brief shot of an Avengers base that pretty much looks abandoned. It wouldn’t be too far-fetched to think each of the Avengers went their separate ways after being crushed by Thanos.

Avengers Base

It’s also possible a lot of them went their own separate ways. We know from the trailer Hawkeye is doing his own thing in what looks like an Asian city.  Tony Stark appears to be dying alone in space. Thor appears to be in some kind of holding cell, and he’s not shown interacting with any other members of the Avengers. As for Ruffalo, he’s seen alone looking at pictures of the missing and presumed deceased.

If the Avengers did go their separate ways following Thanos’ attack that wipes out half of all living beings, Ruffalo’s question, “Has anyone seen the Avengers?” takes on a new meaning. Where are Earth’s heroes and why have they abandoned us in our most desperate time?

Do you think I’m reading too much into Ruffalo’s Tweet or could the man who plays the Hulk be hinting at what is to come in Avengers: Endgame?
