Justice League actor Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in Zack Snyder’s DC superhero team movie, is no stranger to controversy, especially after he accused DC Films, Warner Bros., and Justice League (2017) director Joss Whedon of racism — amongst many others, to be honest.
After the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin, who was declared guilty of murder over the death of George Floyd in May of last year, WarnerMedia shared a tweet in which the studio expressed their opinion on the trial’s verdict.
“THE WORK CONTINUES. While this verdict doesn’t bring back those we’ve so wrongly lost, we know that it brings us closer to significant change. We reaffirm our commitment to be part of the solution by using our platforms, content, and resources to advance racial equity and social justice,” reads the tweet shared by WarnerMedia.
On account of Fisher’s history with the people over at DC Films and Warner Bros. Entertainment, as a whole, the Justice League actor was not pleased in the slightest with the message that WarnerMedia was promoting on social media.
The Justice League actor decided to call WarnerMedia out, stating on Twitter that he is now pissed after reading the studio’s statement about racial equity.
“How f***ing DARE YOU @WarnerMedia?!?!?!” stated the actor on Twitter. He then adds, “Oh, now I’m pissed….”
As mentioned above, Ray Fisher has a long history of controversy that is narrowed down to his time working on Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Justice League.
The most recent accusation the actor made claimed that the studio didn’t want to have an “angry black man” front and centre in Joss Whedon’s Justice League (2017), which led to his role as Cyborg being relegated to a few punchlines and Cyborg’s “booyah!” catchphrase.
Those who have already seen Zack Snyder’s original cut of Justice League will know that Cyborg plays an essential role in the movie. In fact, Fisher’s character is one of, if not, the most fleshed out characters in Zack Snyder’s 4-hour cut of the film.
Fisher also took the opportunity to send a message to WarnerMedia Chief Executive Officer Jason Kilar, stating that “You need to get on this asap.” However, it is also worth mentioning that as of this writing Kilar has yet to reply to Fisher’s tweet.
What makes this whole interaction quite interesting — even though Jason Kilar has yet to reply to Ray Fisher — is the fact that both parties involved are pandering to the same woke demographic; a demographic that may not even know who to root for over this dilemma.
It didn’t stop there, though. Ray Fisher had still more to say about WarnerMedia, although this shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone following the beef between the Justice League actor and Warner Bros., and DC Films.
“They let Tsujihara ‘step down’,” reads Ray Fisher’s tweet calling out WarnerMedia.
Fisher then continued, “They allowed Whedon to ‘exit’ They’ve closed ranks to protect Emmerich, Johns, and Hamada. They’ve admitted to publicly releasing false information and refuse to apologize.”
“Accountability is not WarnerMedia’s strong suit. Onward,” the actor cheekily added.
