The latest long-range tracking prediction for Avengers: Infinity War box office numbers indicates the movie is going to do enormously well for Marvel Studios and Disney.

According to Box Office Pro the film is expected to bring in $219 to $240 million on the opening weekend and bring in $550 million to $615 million in total domestic gross.

They add:

Traditional industry tracking released this week backed up our own previous tracking reports indicating that the film should have little trouble cracking $200 million in its first weekend, although Disney and rival outlets are both projecting more conservatively than our current forecast models suggest. Robust marketing, interest, social media footprints, and pre-sale activity further underscore increasing expectations.

If anything, I would say these tracking numbers are actually understating how much money this movie is going to bring in. Just take a look at Black Panther. The Ryan Coogler directed movie has brought in nearly $657 million from the domestic market and opened to $202 million. Given Avengers: Infinity War is a much bigger movie than Black Panther and is bringing together nearly 10 years of Marvel Studios films, I would bet it is going to beat Black Panther. I wouldn’t be surprised if Avengers: Infinity War tops Avatar and takes the second spot for all time domestic grosses. It might have a challenge beating Star Wars: The Force Awakens which brought in over $936 million. Although I wouldn’t put it out of reach.

What kind of numbers do you expect Avengers: Infinity War to bring in? Will you be seeing the movie multiple times?

Avengers: Infinity War comes to theaters on April 27, 2018.
