Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Makes Huge Promise Regarding Thanos
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige tried to put fans’ fears to rest during a panel at Brazil’s Comic-Con Experience while also making a huge promise regarding Thanos. Many didn’t like the new look of Thanos, especially with his lighter, pink skin tone that we saw in the trailer. They feared the villain might be watered down just like his skin pigment.
Many have also complained about the weakness of Marvel’s movie villains in general.
Feige understands those fears, but he’s confident there’s no need to worry. In fact, he promised Thanos will deliver in the first five minutes of Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.
He told fans:
Within the first five minutes of Infinity War people will understand why Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He continued:
You know, we’ve been teasing Thanos since the very first Avengers film. Remember the end of Avengers, the very end of the movie he turns around in the chair and you realize something bad is coming. We’ve been teasing him for years and the trick is when you tease something for that long you have to deliver.
That’s a pretty big promise. What in the world do the Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios have planned in the first five minutes of Avengers: Infinity War that will show Thanos is the biggest and baddest villain in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Will he do what Ronan failed to do and destroy Xandar and in the process take control of the Power Stone?
Will he kill off one of the Avengers? If so who? The most likely possibilities are Iron Man and Spider-Man as we actually see Thanos engage with them in the trailer. The two are nowhere to be found when Captain America leads the forces of Wakanda and what appears to be the surviving Avengers to combat Thanos’ forces.
But the possibility I like the best, might be his subjugation of the remaining Asgardians. He might thoroughly defeat Thor, Loki, Valkyrie, and Hulk in pursuit of the Space Stone. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Loki offer up the Space Stone after being thoroughly defeated in order to buy time for Thor and company to escape and attempt to warn the Avengers.
How do you think Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios, and the Russo brothers will keep this huge promise?
