Michael B. Jordan Stars in the New Creed II Trailer!
MGM and Warner Bros. just released the first official trailer for Creed II which stars Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Johnson Creed, Tessa Thompson as Bianca, Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago, and Florian Munteanu as Viktor Drago.
Take a look:
The trailer starts off with a traumatic moment as Jordan’s Creed gets knocked out and ends up in the hospital. But that might not be his biggest challenge to overcome. Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa advises Jordan’s Creed about the challenges in life and the decision he is about to make.
That decision appears to be taking on the son of Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago. Rocky warns him that this man is dangerous and has nothing to lose. However, Jordan hears his advice as the belief that he can’t take on Viktor Drago.
After their discussion, we get some clips of Creed training and it appears Rocky Balboa is no longer part of his team and corner.
We then get some clips of Creed once again questioning is legacy and whether or not he can stand up to his father’s legacy. He questions whether he is worthy. However, his mother bluntly tells him, “Don’t pretend this is about your father.”
We then get a ton of shots back to back to back of Creed in the ring, training, Rocky looking on, Tessa Thompson looking sad as she caresses Creed’s face, and then a huge fiery intro into the ring. We get a ton of emotion as he appears to be looking down on one opponent. There’s a huge breakout during what looks to be the weigh in to the fight as well.
Michael B. Jordan then explains to us the fight he’s about to undertake is “more than just a fight.”
As the trailer winds down we get a look at who his opponent will be and the name Drago is emblazoned on the back of his robe. And he lands an absolutely devastating right hook on Creed that sees his entire face do a 180 degree turn.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.
Creed II is directed by Steven Caple Jr. and is written by Sylvester Stallone. It hits theaters on November 21, 2018.
