The David Zaslav regime may have finally done what the ousted ones at WarnerMedia would not and replaced Amber Heard in Aquaman 2.
In a new scoop by YouTuber Syl Abdul, it’s claimed by his source that Mera is in scenes being reshot for Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, but there is a twist.
The actress playing her is a guarded secret and it might not be Amber Heard.

The source who first told Abdul Ben Affleck was on set and going to be in the Lost Kingdom as Batman also shared someone else there in a Mera costume, although they didn’t see who.
As we are still awash in rumors Heard’s scenes have either been cut down, if not deleted or expanded, Abdul pressed for further answers. Unluckily, the only one he got was, “They don’t know.
It’s possible the Mera portions are simple pickup shots requiring a mere body double but the question of why the actress’s identity is top secret has been begged.
The obvious follow-up, which founder of Geekosity Mikey Sutton asked, is “if it is Heard, why hide it?” She’s been slated for the next Aquaman movie from the jump. Even as her story in her case against Johnny Depp unraveled, her spot seemed secure.
This was despite petitions calling for her to be fired and replaced by Emilia Clarke reaching over two million signatures and DC Films chief Walter Hamada admitting he wanted to let Heard go because of his issues with her chemistry opposite Jason Momoa.
Hamada said during the trial, “It was the concerns that were brought up at the wrap of the first movie, production of the first movie, which was the issue of chemistry. Did the two have chemistry?”
I think editorially they were able to make that relationship work in the first movie, but there was a concern that it took a lot of effort to get there. And would we be better off recasting, finding someone who had more natural chemistry with Jason Momoa and move forward that way?
In later testimony he asserted the chemistry seen on-screen was an illusion created by editing and music, “You can fabricate, sort of, that chemistry.”
He elaborated, “I think if you watch the movie, they looked like they had great chemistry, but I just know that through the course of the post-production that it took a lot of effort to get there. Sometimes you don’t. Sometimes it’s very easy, you just put the characters on the screen together and they work, and sometimes it’s harder.”
The pleas to replace Heard fell on deaf ears – at least until David Zaslav was there to hear them, it would seem. He’s in a position to decide where DC goes from here and per other rumors, he won’t be happy until he gets what he wants.
In the case of Aquaman, he’s dissatisfied with something though it’s not clear what. Maybe it’s Amber Heard, but in any event, Zaslav and Warner have delayed it until Christmas of next year to apparently extend the post-production.
They may also be taking the time to scrub Heard from the picture but why they are keeping her substitute’s identity close to the vest, if they indeed are, is a mystery.
Could it be that Emilia Clarke finally received that phone call? Arguably then, it’s worth not spoiling the surprise.
