Ryan Reynolds Talks Potential Avengers/Deadpool Crossover!

If Ryan Reynolds gets his way it might be possible to see an R-Rated Deadpool and Avengers crossover.

Reynolds spoke to Total Film:

That sounds like a great idea but a very expensive idea. Can you imagine the s**t-talking contest with Iron Man? Oh, that would be great. But it would have to be rated R to completely unharness everybody. Unbridle the merriment and watch them go…

Marvel has shown it is not opposed to working in characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) they currently do not own the film rights to. They recently collaborated with Sony Entertainment to bring Spider-Man into the MCU for Captain America: Civil War and Spider-Man: Homecoming. But what might even be a bigger sign for a potential arrangement between Fox and Marvel Television is their current collaboration on the upcoming X-Men show Gifted.

There is also definite precedence for a Deadpool and Avengers crossover. In the comics, Deadpool teams up with Captain America’s Secret Avengers and takes down a cloned army of the Secret Avengers. Then after Secret Wars, he actually joins the Avengers Unity Squad. In fact, Deadpool actually bank rolls the team through merchandise sales.

A different version of Deadpool called the Swordsman also joined the Avengers. This version of Deadpool never got cancer or went to the Weapon-X program. Instead he is calm, level-headed, and stern.

Another potential option could be Deadpool acting as an antagonist. In Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Deadpool goes on a massive killing spree after a failed brainwashing by Psycho-Man amplifies a voice inside his head that tells him to kill everyone.

We might have to wait awhile for this to come to fruition. But you can next see Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool in Deadpool 2. Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1, 2018. It stars Reynolds as Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and Josh Brolin as Cable.

Would you want to see a Deadpool/Avengers R-rated crossover? What storyline would you like to see them adapt?
