Samuel L. Jackson Explains Fake Captain Marvel Time Travel Spoiler
Captain Marvel actor Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, explained why he stated that Captain Marvel could time travel when in fact that is now revealed in the actual movie.
Jackson appeared with co-star Brie Larson on an episode of Carpool Karoake to explain why he stated Captain Marvel could time travel.
Jackson would explain, “I think I got it confused with the fact that you can jump dimensions. You can jump galaxies. When you give me the pager, you said no matter where I am – whatever galaxy. It seems like there was something in there about you might not be in this realm. You might be on the other side of another space continuum of some sort.”
Jackson had previously admitted the time travel spoiler was fake in an interview with Kevin Ryder. Ryder asked Larson, Jackson, and Ben Mendelsohn if anyone had spoiled the movie.

Larson replied, “No, you just made stuff up” referencing Jackson. He chimed in confirming, “I made stuff up. I said she could time travel one time. Just jacked everybody up.” Larson would add, “And we did have to backtrack from that a couple times.” However, Jackson would intervene saying, “No, I was just blowing smoke. It was actually a mistake. We were tired. It was the end of the day.”
Jackson had previously told E! Online:
“I mean, they’re up against some really, really tough odds right now we saw throughout Infinity War. So now we know we need something that’s as powerful as Thanos. And at some point, we’ll find out how powerful she is and all the things that she’s capable of. She’s one of the few people in the Marvel Universe that can time travel.”
What do you make of Jackson’s explanation? Do you think he might have intentionally revealed she could time travel to give the movie a greater connection to Avengers: Endgame?
