Shazam! Actor Zachary Levi Addresses Fans “Review Bombing” Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel

Shazam! actor Zachary Levi addressed fans who have expressed they are uninterested in seeing Captain Marvel on Rotten Tomatoes.

Levi appears to have fallen for the fake narrative that people are “review bombing” Captain Marvel on Rotten Tomatoes despite the fact you can’t even put in a review on Rotten Tomatoes because the film is not out in theaters yet.

Nevertheless, Levi addressed his fans about this.

He begins the video stating:

“There are people out there making a lot of really inflammatory, defamatory, and completely fictitious reviews and posts of Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. And trying to pit Shazam! against it. Saying they are going to support us and not them because of things they are by the way making up. Things that they are saying they saw some screening and this, that, or the other is in the movie.”

You can watch it below:

Levi would continue:

“I just found this out last night and for anyone out there who thinks you are doing me a favor, or you are doing Shazam! a favor, or you are doing Warner Bros. or what. You’re not. This is not helping anyone or anything.”

Levi would then go on to state there is no competition between Captain Marvel and Shazam!:

“There is no competition. Just because Shazam! used to be called Captain Marvel way back in the day doesn’t mean that somehow Brie or Marvel’s Captain Marvel are pitted against us. Sure we are both movies and we are both going to be out in theaters at similar times. And the irony of that timing is really interesting for sure. But there’s no conspiracy, guys.”

He then specifically addresses individuals who might want to pit Captain Marvel against Shazam!

“Anyone out there who is holding on to some bone like they need to pick a side and pick a fight is sorely mistaken. I really hope you will just chill on that. Don’t go and engage on that behavior any more. If you want to be passionate about either movie rock and roll. If you want to be passionate about both movies rock and roll. This is really low blow type of stuff. To be going and lying is the bottom of the barrel to me. But to be lying in an attempt to discredit or defame somebody, I think is just really sad.”

Levi’s comments coincide with Shazam! director David F. Sandberg’s own comments where he indicated he wanted Captain Marvel to make a ton of movie in order to shut people up!

What do you make of Levi’s comments? Do you think he is wildly misinformed about what’s happening with Captain Marvel and people indicating whether or not they plan to see the film?
