Shazam! Director Slams Haters
Shazam! director David F. Sandberg is firing on all cylinders in the New Year. He slammed one Twitter user who was already telling people to “steer clear” of the movie.
Needless to say Sandberg roasted him on Twitter.
He told him, “Not to stop you from having an opinion about something that doesn’t exist yet, it’s the internet after all, but as I designate a movie the obligatory Best/Worst Ever!! I find it helpful sometimes to have more info than a few characters names.”

He didn’t stop there. He added, “Sometimes I’ll even wait for a trailer of some sort if I really want to go crazy.”

He even teased that he’s going to skip production and go straight to reshoots, “We’re smart about it though. We’ve decided to skip production and just go straight to reshoots to save money.”

While Sandberg was roasting this hater, he also found time to criticize Warner Bros.’ secrecy regarding their film projects and more specifically Shazam!
“If it was up to me I’d share a ton of behind the scenes stuff as it’s happening since I’m all about that. Concept art, characters, sets, etc. I doubt it would stifle negative discussion though. More details only means more to argue about,” he said.

I’m not so sure he’s right that sharing behind the scenes information would mean more things to argue about. For the most part, almost everything that has leaked out of Avengers: Infinity War has been stuff to get excited for. First looks at Proxima Midnight are exciting and I haven’t seen anyone really arguing about it. The hype from the leaked Avengers: Infinity War trailer from San Diego Comic Con lead to the actual trailer release setting YouTube records.
The real issue here is that Warner Bros. and DC Films have lost trust with many of their fans following Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While Wonder Woman helped to rebuild that trust it was shaken by Justice League due to studio intervention. Fans are right to be skeptical of DC’s upcoming project given their track record, but they should also wait to see the movie before judging it based off of just casting announcements.
