Thompson announced her involvement in the Time’s Up 4% Challenge while at the Sundance Film Festival.
“Because only 4 percent of the top 100 studio films over the last decade have been directed by women, Times Up is initiating a challenge, the 4 percent challenge, and I intend to take it. I commit to working with a female director in the next 18 months.”

After announcing her commitment to the Time’s Up Challenge, Thompson also indicated she wants more “women and POC journalist” covering her films. Thompson indicated she has films coming out in April and June. The film debuting in June is the new Men in Black: International, where she stars alongside her [easyazon_link identifier=”B076X7F6BC” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Thor: Ragnarok[/easyazon_link] costar Chris Hemsworth.
Given Avengers: Endgame will be released in April, it’s more than likely that is the film Thompson is referring to.
According to IMDB, the only other two movies Thompson is working on are Passing and Lady and the Tramp. Lady in the Tramp doesn’t currently have a release date, but is expected to be part of Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+. Passing is currently in pre-production and doesn’t currently have a release date.
Valkyrie did not make an appearance in Avengers: Infinity War and she was not part of the dead who were slain at the hands of Thanos and his Black Order when he attacked the Asgardian refugee ship.
However, [easyazon_link identifier=”B07CKQ4R7X” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Avengers: Infinity War[/easyazon_link] director Joe Russo did reveal that Valkyrie a number of Asgardians did survive the attack. While attending an event at his almamater, the University of Iowa, Russo detailed that a number of Asgardians fled in escape pods. It’s more than likely Valkyrie survived by leading the fleeing Asgardians to safety.
