The trailer sees Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell recruited by Val Kilmer’s Admiral Kazansky to train the next group of top ace’s in the Navy.
Not only will he be training this next group of hotshots, but the trailer also shows them preparing to go on a combat mission the likes no one, not even Maverick has seen before.
The trailer has plenty of nostalgia even appearing to include the scene where Maverick races a jet down the runway on his motorcycle from the first movie.
Along with this nostalgia, it includes some personal drama with the inclusion of Nick “Goose” Bradshaw’s son Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw played by Miles Teller.
Jennifer Connelley’s Penny Benjamin appears to be Maverick’s new love interest who will also provide him with moral courage and strength as he deals with this new class of pilots and this dangerous mission they are to undertake.
