Zack Snyder Reveals New Teases of Darkseid And Martian Manhunter For His Cut Of Justice League

Zack Snyder has revealed new low-res, but still impressively detailed images of Darkseid and Martian Manhunter from the upcoming release of his ‘Snyder Cut’ of Justice League.

He appeared this week on The Nerd Queens League of Mayhem Stream, where he held up each “drawing” as a “little tease.”

Holding up his phone to display the image of Darkseid, Snyder noted that the artwork “would look cool on a black shirt.”

That passing shirt observation has come to pass as a self-fulfilling prophecy, as a t-shirt bearing the watercolor image of the Dark God is now available for purchase through Ink to the People.

The shirt is white but does feature the cool-looking representation on the front. Inscribed on the back is the phrase “ALL EXISTENCE SHALL BE MINE,” a phrase that sounds completely natural coming from the Lord of Apokolips’ mouth.

One of the Nerd Queens mentioned people are going to want this design as a tattoo, but so far, no one has come forward bearing Darkseid’s visage on their skin, but it’s undoubtedly bound to happen.

Noteworthy is the fact that the image bears the title “Zack Snyder’s Justice League,” adding further evidence that the director’s name is an official part of the ‘Snyder Cuts’ official release title.

Snyder then showed off the art with Martian Manhunter.

“That’s a tease. That’s a little tease,” he said. “It’s pretty low-res and it’s just a drawing.”

The tease was brief, with Snyder politely smiling and refusing to show more when asked. When a Nerd Queen commented that the character was green like the Manhunter should be, Snyder smiled and said “It was a little bit.”

He further reiterated that the picture “was just a drawing” and “not really” the shape-shifting alien yet. That’s coming when Snyder’s Cut is released on HBO Max.

After some speculation, we learned through storyboards and posts from Snyder on the video streaming platform Vero that General Swanwick (Harry Lennix), who first appeared in 2013’s Man of Steel, was intended to be revealed as J’onn J’onnz.

J’onn would also have disguised himself as Martha Kent at one point, interacted with Lois, and even played a role in the film’s final battle.

Beyond that, there are numerous talks of direct sequels and spinoffs if Zack’s JL is successful. Where Snyder would go, he didn’t tell The Nerd Queens, but he knows – especially with Darkseid coming to Earth.

“What do I say to the world about, you know, what happens when Darkseid comes to Earth?” Snyder teased. “Then what? You know, is that a thing?”

Getting to the point, he would continue “…do I know what happens when Darkseid? Yes. I do know what happens. To say and to speculate about what that is, that would be exciting.”

Hopefully, the answers to just how Martian Manhunter and Darkseid will play into the DCEU will be revealed when The Snyder Cut hits HBO Max in 2021.
