Brooklyn Nine-Nine Actor Terry Crews Defends Himself Against Accusations of Homophobia from “Woke Twitter”

Deadpool 2 and Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews continues to be attacked for his views on parenting and fatherhood with some now stating he’s not only misogynist, but homophobic as well.

Crews is being attacked for stating children “will be severely malnourished” if they do not receive both paternal and maternal love.

Crews deleted the Tweet and offered an apology saying, “I apologize to anyone who was hurt by my ‘severely malnourished’ tweet. It was in response to someone who said kids wouldn’t ‘starve’. It was poorly worded so I deleted it.”

Crews would also recognize that his Tweet was hurtful.

Despite the apology, Crews was accused of homophobia. However, unlike many actors and actresses who would normally go silent after an apology or issue a canned response, Crews would respond to his accusers challenging many of their arguments and accusations against him.

He would also begin quote tweeting a number of his followers who admitted they struggled without having a father figure in their life.

Following Crews’ defense of fatherhood and its importance in children’s lives he would then state he had “another very controversial statement to make.” He would state, “As a human being there are things you can only get from your mother.”

And Crews’ prediction that it would be controversial would quickly become a reality. Nerdist’s Editor in Chief Rachel Heine weighed in.

She would be joined by model Emily Sears who claimed Crews’ Tweets were “hurting people.”

But Crews would once again not sit and take the accusations.

In fact, Crews would offer his sympathy to Twitter user EyeofShamia who claimed they were an orphan, but was taken in by her mom’s best friend. In fact, EyeOfShamia even thanked Crews for his pep talk and stated they had learned a lot from his motivational speeches.

However, this would anger Sears and the two would go back and forth for quite a bit with Sears taking offense at Crews referring to her as “dear.”

Crews would continue to defend himself against accusations of homophobia regrading his “severely malnourished” tweet.

Crews would then call out #Woke Twitter for their unrelenting attacks against him.

What do you think? Did Terry Crews touch a nerve with “Woke” Twitter? And what are your thoughts behind his views on fatherhood as well as parents? Let me know in the comments below!
