Netflix celebrated Valentine’s Day by releasing a brand new Stranger Things Season 4 teaser titled “From Russia with love” that confirms David Harbour’s Hopper is alive.

Not only does the teaser trailer confirm that Hopper is alive, but it also reveals that Game of Thrones actor Tom Wlaschiha is playing a Russian guard overseeing Hopper and the other prisoners who are building a train rail.

TVLine reports the Duffer Brothers released a statement about Season 4 as well.
The statement begins, “We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper!”
It continues, “Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other.”
Season 4 won’t just be focusing on Hopper, the Duffer Brothers also provided an update on what’s happening in the United States as well, “Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything.”
They concluded their statement saying, “Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime, pray for the American.”

TV Line’s Michael Ausiello speculates that Season 4 will be nine episodes in length and that one of the character’s origin stories could be told in one of those episodes.
A release date for Season 4 has not been announced yet.
