Norman Reedus Reveals How He Wants Daryl To Die On The Walking Dead!

Chances are if you ask a fan of The Walking Dead which major character death would upset them most, the answer would be Daryl Dixon. Perhaps this is because, unlike virtually every other character on the TV show, Daryl does not appear in the comics. He was created by Frank Darabont specifically for the show and actor Norman Reedus, and therefore there’s no indication in the comics as to how Daryl might one day die.

But Reedus has given us a clue.

In an interview with Cnet, Reedus revealed exactly how he’d want Daryl to die – metaphorically speaking, at least:

I think you’d see a sunset. I would walk up over a hill and then a little wolf puppy would come out of the woods and follow me up. And people would just go, ‘Whatever happened to that guy?’

As nice as that sounds, it goes completely against the shocking on-screen deaths for which The Walking Dead is known. Furthermore, as beloved as Daryl is by fans, if he were to ever die it would need to be definitive in order to offer up some closure. (Remember how agonizing it was waiting for Morgan and Carol to show up again?)

That being said, if Daryl manages to survive the coming war and the rest of the show, having him ride off into the sunset during the series finale seems like a perfectly suitable ending.
