Ethan Van Sciver Educates Bill Sienkiewicz on Comicsgate!

Comic book creator Ethan Van Sciver took to Twitter to educate Bill Sienkiewicz on Comicsgate. Van Sciver’s education of Sienkiewicz came after the [easyazon_link identifier=”1302912887″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]New Mutants[/easyazon_link] artist penned a Facebook post where he decried Comicsgate and decided to call those participating in the movement “assholes.”

He would take it a step further and call them “creepy racist misogynist uncles showing up at reunions and pissing in the punchbowl.” He would continue with insults calling Comicsgate supporters “awful ambassadors,” “brownshirts,” and “goddamned ugly dicks.” He would end his post saying, ” you won’t be missed one damned bit.”

Sienkiewicz’s post would inspire what appears to be a coordinated media attack on Comicsgate and its members. There would be articles from CBR, Paste, Vulture, Polygon, Daily Dot, Inverse, and more.

Ethan Van Sciver took the chance to educate Sienkiewicz as well as the public at large on Comicsgate:

Tim Doyle called for lawsuits against Donald Trump supporters who work in the comic book industry.

Comic book creator B. Clay Moore threatened to harass Richard Meyer at a convention in an attempt to provoke him into violence.

Mark Waid inserted himself into a relationship with publisher Antarctic Press and Diversity & Comics, Jon Malin, and Brett R. Smith’s Jawbreakers – Lost Souls. After Waid’s intervention the publisher dropped Jawbreakers – Lost Souls.

Tim Doyle and Kieran Shiach worked overtime in order to label Ethan Van Sciver a white supremacist, an accusation that has been roundly condemned.

Trolls attempted to create fake fundraisers for Van Sciver’s Cyberfrog: Bloodhoney. in order to dupe customers.

There were numerous hit pieces from BuzzFeed to The Daily Beast attempting to malign Comicsgate.

DC Comics and former Marvel artist Robbi Rodriguez sent pictures of his butt to Ethan Van Sciver over Twitter.

Comic book creator Ron Marz called for incivility against Comicsgate even likening a violent video to the movement.

Both DC Comics and Marvel Comics creators Gabby Rivera and Ramon Villalobos were open about their racism towards white people.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse director openly supported the group known as Antifa which has been labeled by a group that participates in domestic terrorism.

Alterna Comics and publisher Peter Simeti faced significant attacks after he treated his customers with respect.
