Official Stan Lee Tribute Announced – Organized by Kevin Smith

An official Stan Lee tribute has been organized by Kevin Smith, Legion M and Agents of Mayhem in partnership with Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment. The tribute will honor the legendary comic book creator’s life and legacy.

The tribute will take place at Hollywood’s iconic TCL Chinese Theater on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. The tribute in the forecourt of the TCL Chinese Theater will feature an art exhibit by artist Rob Prior, a number of celebrity speakers, select costumes and props from Stan’s cameos and creations, a musical performance, and a special moment of remembrance around Stan Lee’s hand and foot imprint.

There will be a private tribute held in the IMAX Theatre hosted by Kevin Smith. Smith will moderate a number of conversations with celebrity speakers that include Mark Hamill, Rob Liefeld, Michael Uslan, Vincent D’Onofrio, RZA, Tom DeSanto, and others. Following the moderated conversations, the tribute will include video tributes and live performances of Stan’s favorite music and poetry.

Smith had high praise for Stan Lee, “Thank you, Stan, for making me not only the boy I was but also the man I am today. You had great power and you always used it responsibly, fostering billions of dreamers who all know your name – a name written in the stars for all time. You were not just the literary titan of comic books, you were our modern-day Mark Twain.”

The tribute will be guided and overseen by POW! Entertainment’s Chief Marketing Officer Bob Sabouni.

Tickets for the event are available now. All proceeds will go to one of Stan’s favorite charities, The Hero Initiative.

The Hero Initiative’s Jim McLauchlin remembered Stan, “Stan believed in the ‘golden rule,’ and always went out of his way to make time for others and make their day just a little bit better. I think this tribute is absolutely in that spirit, and a great chance for fans to get together, share their love for Stan, and find strength in that.”

Additional details for the event including specific speakers, performers, and activities are expected be announced on social media from Kevin Smith, Legion M, Agents of Mayhem, and Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment.
