The Merciless

The idea of combining Wonder Woman and Batman isn’t as odd as you might think. In fact, DC Comics recently combined the two in their Dark Nights: Metal series by writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo. They introduced a character named The Merciless. The character is Bruce Wayne from Earth-12 who takes control of the The Helmet of Ares after Ares killed his lover, Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman 1984

Gadot is currently busy filming the Wonder Woman sequel, Wonder Woman 1984. She recently announced the film’s release date had changed from it’s originally scheduled November 1, 2019 date to June 5, 2020. The change in the date was allegedly to ensure that Wonder Woman would debut in the Summer instead of in the winter. Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution Jeff Goldstein explained, “We had tremendous success releasing the first Wonder Woman film during the summer so when we saw an opportunity to take advantage of the changing competitive landscape, we did. This move lands the film exactly where it belongs.”

Wonder Woman 1984 is expected to take place in the 1980s and will see Chris Pine return. It’s unclear what his role will be given the first film heavily hinted that his character, Steve Trevor, died in a plane explosion at the end of the film. However, set photos and videos indicate Pine’s character is alive and well. It’s unclear if he’s still playing Steve Trevor or possibly his descendant.

The film will also see Kristen Wiig take on long-time Wonder Woman villain Cheetah. There are also rumors based off a set video that the film will introduce Wonder Woman’s iconic Invisible Jet.
