All Aboard The Fallout Hype Train
Hype. Hype never changes…
After years filled with various hoaxes ranging from fake trademark filings to entirely fake websites, Fallout fans might finally have the announcement they’ve been waiting for. Earlier today this tweet was sent out by Bethesda Studios:

— BethesdaGameStudios (@BethesdaStudios) June 2, 2015
They also changed the banner picture on the Fallout facebook page to match the “Please Stand By” picture. But the real kicker is the link they sent out… A “please stand by” page with a countdown timer which ends tomorrow at 10am eastern time.
Bethesda made a short blog post of about 80 words earlier this year that spoke volumes. They would be hosting their first ever E3 press conference by themselves. Obviously big news would be coming. [easyazon_link identifier=”B00ZGT8ILI” locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Fallout[/easyazon_link] fans like myself everywhere began to collectively hold our breaths. Then this happened today. I personally don’t know if I can take another Fallout hype without an announcement.
It has been five years since [easyazon_link identifier=”B0065NP6NC” locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Fallout: New Vegas[/easyazon_link] and seven years since Bethesda developed Fallout 3. [easyazon_link identifier=”B001REZLY8″ locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]Fallout 3[/easyazon_link] was critically acclaimed winning “Game of the Year” and “Best Writing” at the Game Developer’s Choice Awards. It won the Ultimate Game of the Year 2009 and PC Game of the Year 2009 from the Golden Joystick Awards. It has a Metacritic score of 93 and a GameRankings score of 92.79. The game was even exhibited at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
Not only was it well received by the critics but fans loved it too over 4.7 million units were shipped between October of 2008 and the end of the year. It was the eighth best-selling [easyazon_link identifier=”B009DL2TBA” locale=”US” tag=”bounintocomi-20″]PlayStation 3[/easyazon_link] game in the United States in December 2008. It was the 14th best-selling game on the Xbox 360 for the same month and country.
What lies ahead for the Fallout series? We may very well find out tomorrow. But until then… only the Overseer knows.
