The announcement came via the game’s official Twitter account, simply stating “You’ve been chosen,” and shows Anakin Skywalker as he appears in the beginning of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of The Sith. Three Clone Wars era Star Destroyers are also seen in the background.

The following tweet stated gamers can “Join the experience beginning May 2, 2023.” This is notably two days before Star Wars day, that being May the 4th. There are no other details at this time, but the use of the term “experience” suggests there will be an event of some kind.
Previously, the game hosted an event in late 2019 to promote Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Somewhat hosted by a hologram of Geoff Keighley, players saw an early clip from the then upcoming movie.
Players also got to wield the newly introduced lightsabers, and heard the ominous message of the- somehow returned- Emperor Palpatine. Since then, additional content from the franchise has come to Fornite, most recently in November 2022 with another chance to nab some original trilogy themed gear and skins.
Will we see exclusive footage from upcoming media? Or will it be a celebration of the past?
