Warner Bros. and Patty Jenkins Are Developing a Wonder Woman Spinoff for Themyscira’s Amazons
A spinoff of Wonder Woman surrounding her fellow Amazons of Themyscira is reportedly in the works. Here’s what we know.
Patty Jenkins conveyed to press at Comic Con Experience in Brazil ahead of the Wonder Woman 1984 trailer premiere she would help develop and produce the project, but not direct.

Patty Jenkins, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has the story in mind for it along with one for Wonder Woman 3. But she wants to put a gap of time between films. Said Jenkins:
“We actually already know the whole story to it,” Jenkins revealed, adding that there’s also a story for a spinoff focusing on the Amazons on the table as well. “It’s just a matter of, will we change our minds, and when [to make it]. I think what we don’t want to do is do it back to back. It’s been great doing these two movies back to back, but I think it’s important to give it a little rest in between. And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes.”
It’s unknown at this time when this Amazons film may come out or what involvement, if any, Gal Gadot might have. Being in the earliest of development, there’s no assurance the film will make it past that stage.

Spinoffs of DC properties are all the rage at Warner Bros. currently. Aquaman is reportedly getting one – a horror film – centering on the fearsome waters of The Trench.
WB is thought to be considering spinoffs for Catwoman and other villains featuring in The Batman. Two-Face may even get a standalone movie disconnected from any continuity like Joker.
Other standalone villain movies, specifically focusing on Darkseid and Lex Luthor, as well as a Joker sequel were rumored. Director Todd Phillips denied that speculation in November, saying he hadn’t met with WB Chairman Toby Emmerich to discuss follow-ups as some outlets reported.
