Twitch Streamer BadBunny Shows How Not To Treat Viewers

Twitch is an interesting place. On a daily basis, streamers start channels in the hope of building a thriving community.

In the case of Twitch streamer BadBunny, she showed on a recent stream how entitlement and community building don’t mix.

BadBunny’s Tirade

In what can only be described as a blatant show of disrespect, she went on a tirade during a January 18th stream toward her viewers.

“How did my whole speech about how I need subscribers to get the stream going, blah blah blah, result in zero subscribers?”

“There are regulars here. Five dollars a month! How do you have hours of time to watch me, and not $5? What are you doing with your life where you have hours of time to watch Twitch, and not $5 to provide for the content that you’re watching?”

In another clip courtesy of Dexerto, BadBunny doubles down by complaining she has not received a sub or donation in an hour, equating it to working for free.

“Chat! I haven’t got a donation or a sub for an hour!” she exclaimed. “What the f**k?!”

“For an hour?!” the streamer continued as she looked into her camera. “What the f**k?! An hour when I’m f**king working for free?! What the f**k?!”

This is not new behavior for BadBunny. In February of last year, she called out her audience for “leeching” and described them as “cheap asses.”

Most Content Creators Cherish Viewers

Let’s be clear, this is not the norm for most content creators.

The majority of creators on Twitch, Mixer, YouTube, and other various platforms are incredibly appreciative of any support they get.

Whether it’s subscribing, donating monetarily, using a platform currency like bits, or just being a presence in the chatroom, viewers are universally cherished.

In this instance, BadBunny sets a perfect example of how taking a community for granted and having a ridiculous ego is a recipe for negativity.

As a former Twitch streamer, my hope is that streamers like BadBunny gain some humility and appreciate their viewing communities.

In my time on Twitch, I know I loved and appreciated mine.
