Though Chavez is regularly identified as a Latin-American, her identity as any sort of Earth-based race has become a point of discussion among fans due to her alien and non-Earth-based origin.

Alongside being near-indestructible, capable of travel in excess of the speed of light, and able to produce energy beams powerful enough to damage Captain Marvel, Chavez wields her signature ability to ‘kick open’ star-shaped portals to other parts of the multiverse, an ability that could play an important part in connecting future projects and characters to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Given that Chavez has failed to garner attention attention outside of team-up books since 2017, Marvel’s rumored plans to include the character in upcoming franchise films and in her own television series appears to be a risky and questionable one, especially when Silver Age giants like The Fantastic Four and The X-Men have yet to be properly introduced to the ambitious cinematic universe.
