This rumor comes from Jeff Sneider during an appearance on John Rocha’s The Hot Mic show.

Sneider revealed that Saoirse Ronan will not be cast as Sue Storm because the studio believes she’s too young to be a mother.

He said, “Somebody reached out and they go, ‘Yo, it’s not going to be Saoirse Rona.’ And I go, ‘Why?’ And they go, ‘Here’s why: Reed and Sue are parents in the movie.’ They’re going to be parents.”

Sneider went on to say, “That’s what I heard, and so she’s too young.” He also claimed that the kids will not be newborns or infants, but “a little bit older.”

However, he also said, “I don’t know how old and I don’t know if this person is even correct, but it’s someone who I trust and they said Saoirse is a little young for what they’re looking for.”

Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic and Sue Storm aka Invisible Woman have two children after getting married. Their eldest is Franklin Richards and his younger sister is Valeria Meghan Richards.

Franklin first appeared in the comics in Fantastic Four Annual #6 back in 1968 albeit he was unnamed.

He would receive the name Franklin in Fantastic Four #94 with Reed explaining he was named after Sue’s father, Franklin.

Franklin eventually becomes one of the strongest mutants alive able to wield psionic energy capable of destroying Earth.

He even uses it to age himself up so his body so he can handle and control his powers. However, even with a more mature and stronger body, he still lacked the emotional maturity to handle them. He transformed himself back into a child and put dampers on himself so he could eventually grow into his powers as he aged.

Franklin’s power would expand to be able to create an entirely new planet. He was even deemed “a being whom the celestials felt was on par with themselves.”

As for Franklin’s sister, Valeria, she is a much more recent creation first appearing in Fantastic Four #15 in 1999 and believed to be the daughter of Sue Storm and a heroic Victor von Doom.

However, it would later be revealed that Valeria was indeed the biological child of Reed and Sue. Franklin had actually transported her to a different location making Sue believe she had a miscarriage.

Valeria doesn’t typically have any inherent superhuman abilities rather she relies on her technical aptitude to create contraptions that provide her the ability to manipulate force fields similar to Sue Storm or provide her superhuman strength.

Given Franklin and Valeria are typically involved in multiple reality storylines and time traveling it’s quite possible the two could play a significant role in whatever Marvel Studios has planned during their Multiversal Saga.

However, it might be too little too late as recent Marvel Cinematic Universe entries indicate a significantly decreased interest in the ongoing superhero saga.
