Kit Harrington, who plays Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, admitted that the Season 8 finale is “disappointing.”
Harrington was asked to describe the season finale of Game of Thrones in one word. He would take a second to think about it before responding, “disappointing.”
After seeing the interviewer’s reaction, Harrington quickly corrects himself saying, “No, epic. I don’t know. One of those ones.”
Not only did Harrington admit the season finale was disappointing, but Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen was asked if she was happy with how things ended. Clarke awkwardly smiles at the interviewer. When called out for her awkward smile and lack of response, Clarke sarcastically states, “Best season ever!”
Geeks and Gamers compiled the two clips that you can see below.
Their reactions shouldn’t be a surprise at this point in Season 8 of Game of Thrones. The Battle of Winterfell was The Last Jedi bad.
Then they followed that up with another pretty awful episode that saw Jon Snow and Daenerys divide their forces for some inexplicable reason. That decision would result in Daenerys losing Rhaegal and much of her naval fleet. Not only did she lose Rhaegal and her fleet, but Missandei was captured and then executed by Cersei and The Mountain.
To add insult to injury, the show actually included a Starbucks cup in the beginning of the latest episode.
Emilia Clarke addressed the Starbucks controversy in an Instagram post where she questioned, “Did I just stumble upon the truth her?!” She then adds, “The cup bearer does not drinket the Starbucks tea…oh and this ain’t a spoiler just a lost wanderer coming home from a mid filming cuppa….”
Needless to say Game of Thrones Season 8 has been a disaster and it doesn’t appear like it will get any better, especially if the alleged leaked spoilers for the final episodes pan out to be true.
What do you make of Harrington and Clarke’s comments on Game of Thrones Season 8 and the finale? What have you thought about Season 8 so far?
