DC Comics’ New Gods director Ava DuVernay attacked President Donald Trump describing him as a “white supremacist” while also stating that she hopes he recovers from Covid-19.
DuVernay took to Twitter where she wrote, “I truly hope you get well as you’re infected with a life-threatening virus and are physically ill.”
She then added, “Also, you are a disgrace and a liar. You’ve cost hundreds of thousands their lives. And you’re a white supremacist. Get well. Sincerely. And after that, we’re going to vote you out.”

This isn’t the first time that the A Wrinkle In Time director has described President Trump as a “white supremacist.”
Back in September, DuVernay tweeted, “For those who hadn’t been listening for the past 4 years, Trump just told you that he ain’t leaving and that he is a white supremacist.”
She added, “If that doesn’t get every American who is not white into overdrive to toss his ass – we may actually deserve what happens next.”
Interestingly while DuVernay is calling President Trump a “white supremacist” the director is actually herself advocating for the discrimination of people based on their skin color and gender.
On Independence Day, DuVernay also wrote, “Last night, Trump made a Declaration of White Supremacy at Mt Rushmore. If you didn’t watch, find it. Because if you care about Black Lives like these numbers suggest, realize what the next assaults will be. You thought it was bad now.”

In June, DuVernay threatened to not hire white men. She wrote on Twitter, “Everyone has a right to their opinion. And we – Black producers with hiring power – have the right to not hire those who diminish us.”
She added, “So, to the white men in this thread… if you don’t get that job you were up for, kindly remember… bias can go both ways. This is 2020 speaking.”
Her comments came after a number of people pointed out that hiring based on skin color is against the law.

Not only is DuVernay a critic of President Donald Trump, but she is also an advocate for defunding the police.
Also in June, she tweeted, “This is what Defund The Police means. Don’t let white nationalists and Trump make you afraid of the term. Be more evolved.”
She then wrote, “Defunding police means defunding armed responses to issues that don’t need a gun. Building healthier, more humane responses instead.”
DuVernay is expected to direct New Gods with a script she is allegedly working on with former Batman writer Tom King. She’s also expected to direct the upcoming TV movies DMZ and Battle of Versailles.
