Actor Noah Schnapp, best known for his role as Will Byers in the Netflix sci-fi horror series Stranger Things, has bent the knee to the woke cancel mob, after facing backlash over comments regarding the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Hamas.
In October of last year, almost immediately after the terror group’s October 7th surprise invasion, the 19-year-old actor took to Instagram to not only throw his full support behind Israel but also condemn those who were actively villainising the Jewish country.
“You either stand with Israel or you stand with terrorism. It shouldn’t be a difficult choice. Shame on you,” Schnapp wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post, via Fox News, further admitting, “As a Jewish American, I am afraid.”
The Stranger Things star elaborated, “Afraid for my brothers and sisters in Israel, who have been senselessly attacked by Hamas. I am truly heartbroken to see the brutal murders of innocent children, women and soldiers fighting to defend themselves.”
“I, like others, want peace for both Palestinians and Israelis,” Schnapp declared. “Let’s stop the rhetoric and choosing sides. Instead we must recognize that we are all on the side of the fight against terrorism. Choose humanity over violence.”
The actor would then go on to condemn individuals who justified the Palestinian terror group’s barbaric actions against Israeli citizens, stating, “I just reposted a beautiful picture of a young innocent girl whose life was taken by Hamas at a music festival.”
“I was met with comments reading ‘no one cares free Palestine’ and ‘She deserves that, and every Israeli terrorist deserves that – Free Palestine,'” he pointed out, decrying, “I am outraged by the justification and celebration of the death of a young girls life. Have people lost their minds??? STOP!”
The Stranger Things actor explained, “This is one example of many posts, rallies, and petitions being signed attempting to justify the brutality against these innocent Israeli people,” before concluding, “You don’t have to be Jewish, you don’t have to be Israeli, you just have to have empathy and common sense to know that THIS is wrong.”
Schnapp’s stance on the armed conflict between Israel and the Palestinian terror group Hamas did not bode well with the cancel mob, prompting the Jewish American actor to bend the knee and apologise for expressing his support for the Jewish country.
“I feel like my thoughts and beliefs have been so far misconstrued from anything even close to what I believe,” Schnapp prefaced in a video shared to his personal TikTok account on Monday. “I wanted to just state from my heart how I feel.”
He clarified, “I only want peace, and safety, and security for all innocent people affected by this conflict. I’ve had many open discussions with friends from Palestinian background and I think those are very important conversations to have, and I’ve learnt a lot.”
“And one of the takeaways that I’ve had is that we all hope for the same thing,” he declared. “That being — those innocent people still being held hostage in Gaza to be returned to their families, and equally hope for an end to the loss of innocent life in Palestine; so many of those people being women and children, and it’s horrible to see. “
The actor continued, “And I think anyone with any ounce of humanity would hope for an end to the hostility on both sides,” clarifying, “I stand against any killing of any innocent people, and I hope you guys all do to.”
“And I just hope to see one day those two groups be able to live harmoniously together in that region, and I hope for 2024 online to see people being a little more understanding and compassionate, and recognise that we’re all human — regardless of our race, or ethnicity, or background, or country of birth, or even our sexuality. Anything.”
Before concluding, Schnapp said, “We are all human and we are all the same, and we should all love each other for that, and support each other, and stand together. And stand together for humanity and for peace.”
