The Mandalorian star Gina Carano has once again found herself in the sights of an outrage mob, this time due to her ‘liking’ of tweets that did not conform to popular left-wing political perspectives.

This particular instance of indignation towards Carano appears to have begun on November 8th, following Carano’s call to “clean up the election process,” when Syfy Fan Grrls Associate Editor Courtney Enlow declared that “Gina Carano is just the worst” after perusing the actresses’ ‘likes’ on Twitter.
According to screenshots provided in her initial-and-now-deleted tweet, Enlow took issue with three tweets, one each from Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, BlazeTV commentator Lauren Chen, and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Newt Gingrich, questioning the integrity of the 2020 Presidential Election, particularly in regard to the emphasis on mail-in ballots due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“Mando should do like Soderberg did and replace her ass with Laura San Giacomo,” said Enlow, a reference to how San Giacomo was brought in to re-dub some of Carano’s lines, in order to give her character a deeper voice, in Steven Soderbergh’s spy thriller, Haywire.
In response to Enlow’s initial tweet, a wave of Twitter users would take to the platform to insult and berate Carano for her likes, with many calling on Disney to drop the actress from The Mandalorian simply due to her political beliefs.
“Gina Carano is actually a piece of human trash,” said @hurtkylo. “Didney [sic] needs to have al ook at her twitter likes and fire her.”
@NotOccupying lamented that she “discovered that Gina Carano from @themandalorian is a trumper nutjob,” and called on the producers to “fire her ass and recast the role,” while mistakenly tagging the HBO Max account instead of any related to Disney.

Conversely, @GlueGunPaste correctly tagged the Disney and Disney Plus Twitter accounts, baselessly reporting that Carano was “racist, homophobic, and transphobic” and “spreading lies about our election because Trump didn’t win” before outright asking The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau to #FireGinaCarano”.

One user, @hefuckinglost, shared how excited they were “to never see you act again” before vilely telling Carano that she was “still considered young enough to do porn, gotta keep food on the table.”
“Thank god your character on mando was boring as fuck and poorly acted to the point of being comedic or I might be upset that you turned out to be a nutcase bigot,” they added.
“Fire her already,” demanded @deepfluff. “She’s a bigot, a transphobe, she’s doubled down, Gina Carano is a goddamn embarrassment and she’s not going to learn anything for facing no adversity or consequences for her nonsense.”
Twitter user Dataracer117 would also document a number of other individuals targeting Carano.

As for Carano herself, the actress has chosen not to engage with her opponents, instead opting to remain positive and posting on her Twitter that “the more lying, cheating, demoralizing & hate I see..the clearer it is for me to feel the Power of HOPE, TRUTH, RESPECT & LOVE.”
“Let your spirit be filled with strength & peace. Breath [sic],” she concluded.
