Tom King Teases Batman And Catwoman Are Having A Child In Upcoming Comic
DC has some interesting things in store for Catwoman and Batman in both cinema and comics but a development in the latter may run off with the whole cake.
Batman/Catwoman writer, and co-writer of the film New Gods, Tom King shared art on Twitter teasing Bat and Cat are about to have a baby.

The two stand atop a stone gargoyle overlooking Gotham romantically in each other’s arms and Catwoman is clearly showing. She looks several months along too.

The art is by Mikel Janin with colors by Jordie Bellaire. They’re at work with King on the Catwoman 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular.

Since this trio is the creative team behind the Super Spectacular and Batman/Catwoman is drawn by Clay Mann, We Got This Covered speculates the Spectacular is where the above artwork appears.
Other outlets suspect this development will occur in the Batman/Catwoman miniseries as it is the continuation of King’s run on Batman which ended with issue #85. Theorized as well: Selina and Bruce will have a son and they’ll name him Alfred after Bruce’s fallen long-time butler, mentor, ally, and father figure.

Alfred Pennyworth lost his life at the hands of Bane during Batman and Catwoman’s fight to retake the city. A child christened in his memory remains to be seen.
Batman, of course, already has a “son” with Talia al Ghul, Damian, who was genetically engineered. He would eventually become Batman’s new sidekick taking up the Robin mantle. Temporarily killed off, Damian was later resurrected.
Batman and Catwoman also previously had a child in Helena Wayne. She would take on the name Huntress and join the Justice Society of America albeit in the alternate universe Earth-2.
However, a Helena Wayne would also show up in King’s run on Batman in Batman Annual #2. And like the original Helena Wayne, she is the daughter of Batman and Catwoman.
It’s possible this pregnancy could be alluding to the future envisioned in Batman Annual #2 showcasing Helena Wayne and the death of Bruce Wayne.

Catwoman and Batman have been flirting with disaster and intimacy for many years. They came close to walking down the aisle in King’s arc but it didn’t end up happening.
Nevertheless, their tumultuous affair will continue – in print and elsewhere. Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne and Zoe Kravitz’s Selina Kyle might become love interests in The Batman in 2021. We’ll see where that goes but my guess is they won’t rush into having children.
Catwoman’s 80th Anniversary 100-Page Super Spectacular is out on April 15th.
