There is a rumor going around that Henry Cavill will be back in the cape of the Man of Steel starting this October and his first appearance in the new DCEU will be in Black Adam.

This rumor comes from noted DC scooper Syl Abdul, whose sources claim that not only did Cavill film new scenes as Superman this past month but these scenes were done for the blockbuster starring Dwayne Johnson as the title strongman.
Abdul states Cavill will show up in a post-credit stinger at the end, comparing it to the one in Venom: Let There Be Carnage that placed Eddie Brock and Tom Holland in the same Spider-Verse — although they did not ultimately interact.

Abdul gave a big shoutout to Mikey Sutton and his site Geekosity, who have been saying for over a year that Cavill would play Superman again; starting with a cameo in Black Adam.
There was some dispute over who was going to play Superman or if we would even see the actor’s face but Sutton corroborates Abdul’s scoop that it will be Cavill and he filmed the scene that will be used in early August.
Abdul added in a longer commentary about the story that Cavill started the process for his return in June when he met with the studio in the UK to iron out the contract details and partake in a costume fitting.

This development follows on the heels of an earlier report based on tweets by @AjepArts that Superman and a brighter version of the Man of Steel/Snyderverse outfit would appear in Black Adam. At the time, it could not be verified if it was Cavill in the suit.
Abdul clarifies in his commentary that Warner Bros. had the costume as a placeholder for the scene which they had planned and that they were counting on Cavill to make the commitment.
This update is a far cry from the reports Cavill wanted too much money to play the Big Blue Boy Scout, although it lends a little credence to the idea being Superman was up to him all along.
Sutton additionally reports Black Adam will homage Man of Steel and Zack Snyder to a degree but it isn’t known at what point in time the film said tribute takes place. It likely will disregard Joss Whedon’s version of Justice League.
