Warner Bros. and DC executives are weighing their options with Ezra Miller in the wake of his arrest in Hawaii and other scandals.

An inside source told Rolling Stone that higher-ups of the two WarnerMedia subsidiaries held an emergency meeting to discuss the Flash actor’s future and they report “the consensus in the room was to hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Extended Universe.”

The Flash was delayed by another year and some reports, including “tea” spilled by YouTuber Grace Randolph, claim this was due to the actor’s erratic behavior.

Not only did Miller harass patrons at a bar in the Aloha State and threaten a couple in their hotel room, but he also stole some of their personal items including a passport, and experienced “meltdowns” while filming in the UK.

According to an insider, Miller was frequently “losing it” on the Flash set. “Ezra would get a thought in [their] head and say, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing,’” the insider said to Rolling Stone.

Rolling Stone adds Warner is holding off on any decisions regarding their superhero tentpoles including The Flash until the merger closes so they can pass the buck along to Discovery who promises to reshuffle the deck at the entertainment division.

Miller has a recent but storied history of controversy dating back two years. He gave WB pause in 2020 for choking a female fan at an establishment in Iceland and slamming her to the ground.

The incident was caught on video that went viral yet Miller was not removed from Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore the way Johnny Depp was for losing a libel suit against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Prior to the Rolling Stone report, film critic and journalist John Campea reached out to his own source within Warner Bros. to see what the studio might do about this mess.

“So when stuff was going on last week or earlier in the week with the Ezra Miller stuff, I wrote to somebody I knew at Warner Bros. and just asked, ‘Hey, is Warner going to do anything about this? Are you going to address it this time? Is there a possibility you are going to part ways with Ezra Miller?'” he said on his YouTube show.

A surprised Campea got a response. “Not really expecting to hear anything back, and then last night, I got a response that was a little cryptic but said they are discussing options,” he added.

Continuing, Campea clarified that “discussing options” could mean anything – even that they will do nothing. “It could mean, ‘We have decided to get rid of Ezra Miller and we are looking currently at the best ways to go about doing that,'” he said.

“Okay, sure. That’s one way you could look at it,” Campea added. “But it could also mean they’ve decided to do nothing about it and they are discussing how to spin that — that they’re going to do nothing; I mean it could mean a million things.”

Campea also noted that Discovery takes over in the coming week and executives may be discussing what to do (and not) with the goal of keeping their jobs in mind.

In the end, what they could do is recast Barry Allen and use reshoots – ones Miller doesn’t want to participate in – to introduce the new actor at the very end although that’s only a theory.
