YouTubers Bat in the Sun Show Off First Look At Actor Kevin Porter’s Batsuit For Their Latest Batman Fan Film, Dying is Easy
Los Angeles isn’t totally closed for business during the COVID outbreak. Filmmakers Bat in the Sun wrapped shooting on their latest project, the short film Batman: Dying is Easy, last week, and can’t wait for all of us to see it.
The team released the following image of actor Kevin Porter in costume as The Dark Knight on Facebook. “We are excited to show our first photo of Kevin Porter in the Batsuit!” they wrote in their post.

“A lot of time, talent and hard work went into the creation of this suit!” the post continued, with a thank-you to the effects house behind the outfit. “Huge thanks and hats off to our partner in crime with suits, ReevzFX!”

Below is a side-by-side look at Porter in the rain dressed as Bruce Wayne and under the cowl, which he has done several times for the troupe. Porter has also played Negan for them and Deathstroke.
Bat in the Sun, the makers of the Super Power Beat Down YouTube series, wanted more characters than ever for this short. Hence, the Caped Crusader won’t be alone; he squares off with his greatest enemy, The Joker, in a cerebral battle.
Take a look at actor Aaron Schoenke (Ninjak vs. the Valiant Universe) as The Clown Prince of Crime.
According to their IndieGoGo campaign, the group made Dying is Easy with the purpose of pitting the Bat against The Joker “in a battle of words that gives an in-depth look at their complex characters.”
Bat in the Sun, aiming to return to their Batman roots, created “something we have yet to see in live action.”
“We want to give the fans something they’ve always craved with these characters,” they add. “A psychological, dark detective story with an almost horror film feel.”
That description sounds similar to the pitch for Matt Reeves’ The Batman while at the same time conjuring images of the well-received fan film Batman: Dead End (2003). That short also featured Joker, played by the late Andrew Koenig, son of Walter Koenig.
