Bandai Namco Entertainment have revealed a bevy of new information regarding Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R, including an official release date, the confirmation of four new characters to the game, and the game’s three pre-order offerings.
On May 26, 2022 Bandai Namco Entertainment. revealed on their youtube channel the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R release date and four new characters for the game. In addition, three pre order editions were revealed on Bandai Namco Entertainment’s website.
A 2.5D fighter developed by CyberConnect 2, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle offers players an impressively large roster of characters from across all eight parts of Hirohiko Araki’s masterpiece, replete with their own unique mechanics, from as they fight their way to a final confront with iconic villain Dio.
A remaster of the game’s original 2013 PlayStation 3 release, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R “has been overhauled from the original JOJO battle system with adjustments to the fighting tempo and the addition of hit stops and jump dashes.”
On May 26th, Bandai Namco Entertainment debuted a new trailer for the remaster, wherein they confirmed that the game would release in September, on the 1st via Steam for PC players and on the 2nd for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch consoles.

Additionally, the trailer announced that PlayStation players on both consoles would receive an early access demo, which according to Bandai Namco Entertainment, “gives players hands-on time with two modes with online PvP and practice modes.”
Bandai Namco Entertainment also revealed the identity of four new characters would be joining the game’s original roster of 32 playable fighters.

These new combatants include the Joestar’s ever faithful ally, Robert E. O. Speedwagon from Part 1: Phantom Blood
The magnetic mistress Mariah from Part 3: Stardust Crusaders:
Long-time JJBA fighting game mainstay and winged Stand user Pet Shop:
And Diego Brando, the dinosaur-transforming alternate timeline version of Dio introduced in Steelball Run:
For fans who can’t wait to pierce themselves with the Golden Arrow, Bandai Namco Entertainment has opened up pre-orders for all three editions of the game’s release.
These offerings include the game-only Standard Edition, which will retail for $49.99:
The $69.99 Digital Deluxe Edition, which provides a digital version of the game as well as an Animation Special Event Color Set for Jonathan and Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo, Josuke Higashikata, and Giorno Giovanna.
Players who purchase this edition will also receive the Season Pass, which grants full and early access to the four aforementioned newcomers, as well as the ‘First Appearance’ Costume for Rohan Kishbe and Mohammed Avdol’s ‘Father?’ Costume.
And finally, the Collector’s Bundle, which will run players $99.99 in exchange for the game, the Animation Special Event Color Set, and a 10-inch statue of Joylne Cujoh in her Grandista series Special Color.
As of writing, it’s unclear – especially in the age of collector’s editions regularly failing to include the actual game – if the Collector’s Bundle will include the Season Pass.
Further, all pre-orders of the game will come with a bonus Green Dolphin Street State Prison Jacket costume for Jolyne Cujoh.
