Henry Cavill Under Fire After Social Justice Warriors Find Out He Dated Gina Carano
The same cancel culture mob that has been attacking former The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano almost non-stop ever since she was fired has, unfortunately, now turned their sights on Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill.
The reason? Cavill and Carano used to date…well over nine years ago.
That’s right, Henry Cavill is now being targeted by social justice warriors because he used to date Carano, albeit for a short period of time, all the way back in 2012 — which is around the same time that Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel was in production.
As first spotted by the people over at SmallScreen, people on social media have been comparing Henry Cavill and Gina Carano to Homelander and Stormfront, the villainous couple from Amazon Prime’s critically acclaimed series The Boys.
Sharing an image of Homelander and Stormfront kissing, Twitter user @GarfOfTheGalaxy asked,”Hey guys remember when Henry Cavill and Gina Carano dated”.
Similarly, @fanvaxstudios shared a different image of the two members of The Seven along and simply captioned it “Henry Cavill and Gina Carano”.

What’s even more interesting is that there are other social media users who have been openly trying to cancel Cavill for not showing support for Sasha Calle, who was recently cast as Supergirl in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash.
Below, Twitter user LaurenNakaoWinn takes offence after seeing that Superman Returns’ Brandon Routh, Krypton’s Cameron Cuffe, Supergirl’s Melissa Bennoist, and Smallville’s Laura Vandervoort welcomed Sasha Calle into the role as Supergirl, and singled out Cavill for not having made any comments regarding the news.

While many taken offence to the fact that Cavill even dared to date Carano in the first place, probably because they are eagerly looking for something to be offended by, the good news is that most people replying to the aforementioned tweets don’t really see anything wrong with the actors having dated almost a decade ago.
On top of this, most believe that the Man of Steel actor not welcoming Sasha Calle into the DCEU isn’t a big deal, as he is a busy actor and his life doesn’t revolve around social media.
As eloquently explained by Twitter user Pyromanic_Kelly in response to @LaurenNakaoWinn, “Henry isn’t on Twitter. He barely posts on Instagram and Facebook as it is.”
“You’re just reaching,” she concluded.
At the end of the day, the problem here isn’t about Cavill dating Carano, or him not welcoming Sasha Calle into the DCEU. As is typically the case, it comes down to a vocal minority who can’t help but nag and cry about anything that may hurt either their feelings or someone else’s.
Do you think cancel culture will negatively affect the career of the insanely talented Henry Cavill? Has it even managed to hurt the career of Gina Carano at all? Let us know in the comments section down below.
