On Tuesday, the Florida senate passed HB 1557 ( Parents Rights in Education) bill that seeks to ban discussions of sexual orientation or gender identity from “kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”
Insufferably woke actor Mark Hamill, best known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, has responded to the recently passed bill, seemingly oblivious of what this particular bill actually entails.

The official Twitter account of Occupy Democrats reported on the news about the bill writing, “Florida’s students spoke loud and clear this week against GOP’s bill to cancel free speech and LGBTQ people, and they’re going to #SayGayAnywway,” and encouraging others to “RT if you will too.”
Being the left-wing activist that he is, Hamill retweeted the post shared by Occupy Democrats, writing the word “gay” a grand total of 69 times and added a rainbow flag emoji, which has become associated with the LGBT movement despite originally being the symbol of God’s covenant with Noah.
Given Hamill’s long history of woke, biased activism, his childish response to the passing of the bill comes as no surprise. Woke leftists have falsely labelled the bill “Don’t Say Gay” in an attempt to spread a false narrative in regards to what it actually does.
As per the Florida Senate’s official website, the Parental Rights in Education bill “requires district school boards to adopt procedures that comport with certain provisions of law for notifying student’s parent of specified information.”
“Requires such procedures to reinforce fundamental right of parents to make decisions regarding upbringing & control of their children,” the document continues, adding that it also “prohibits school district from adopting procedures or student support forms that prohibit school district personnel from notifying parent about specified information or that encourage student to withhold from parent such information.”
The one point that woke celebrities like Hamill are overlooking, if they even took some time to read the 7-page document at all, stipulates that HB 1557 “prohibits classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in certain grade levels.”
“Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards,” the document further specifies.
As noted above, the bill itself isn’t as trivial as left-wing activists are making it out to be, which is one of the main reasons why Hamill is actually catching some flak on social media.

Psychologist Gad Saad called out the woke actor, rightfully asking Hamill whether he had even attempted to give Florida’s Parental Rights in Education a proper read.
“Do you know what’s in the bill in question? Could you truly be this puerile in your imbecility?” Saad questioned Hamill.
Newsmax contributor and former legal advisor for Donald Trump Jenna Ellis asked, “Did you actually read the bill tho?” sharing a gif from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that sees series main villain Darth Vader saying “You seem unsettled.”

President of News Cycle Media, Jon Nicosia, also called out Hamill’s seemingly uneducated tweet, asking, “Did you read the bill Mark?”
In a follow-up tweet, Nicosia made sure that Hamill understood what he’s blindly advocating for.
“Don’t Say Gay Bill’ might be the largest real-time fake news spread by the majority of the mainstream press in history,” Nicosia declared. “It also highlights the out of proportion power 6% of the population (LGBT % in the US) has on the media. 90% of media likely didn’t bother reading the Bill.”

Before woke activists called him out, Nicosia shared an article from Gallup for those asking him where he got the data to back up his claim that only 6% of the population in the United States identifies as LGBT.
According to the study conducted by Gallup’s Jeffrey Jones, who interviewed 15,000 individuals throughout 2020, a total of 5.6% of the population in the United States identifies as either lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender.
Josh Barnett, Republican candidate for the election to represent Arizona’s 7th Congressional District, tweeted to Hamill, “Obsessed with division. Read the bill then come talk to me.”
Physician and author R.M. Huffmann also called out the woke actor, bringing forward what the bill actually stipulates, and asking him why he chooses to oppose it.
“Hi, Mark! The text of the bill reads ‘ classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3.'”
Huffmann then proceeded to ask Hamill, “Which part of this do you oppose?”
Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi simply handed Mark Hamill an “L” by sharing a gif of Family Guy’s Stewie Griffin wearing a straitjacket in a mental asylum.
Political commentator and talk show host Dave Rubin shared a fairly educational video that thoroughly explains what Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill actually does, with the caption “Here’s what’s actually in the bill, Mark.”
“PS: The Force is weak with you,” Rubin added, making allusion to the character that kickstarted Mark Hamill’s Hollywood career.

Mark Hamill doubled down on his poorly educated take on Florida’s bill on Wednesday, pointing out that German Twitter users had been reporting the actor’s original tweet, making fun of the situation without even addressing the complaints currently available under his tweet’s comment section.
“Thanks for informing me of the complaint from the German people- I had no intention of violating the Network Enforcement Act & am relieved to learn that tweeting the word “gay” 69 times with a rainbow emoji is NOT subject to removal under the @Twitter rules or German law,” stated the actor.
