Datamine of Marvel’s Avengers Beta Reveals 15 Unannounced DLC Characters

Dataminers have discovered that 15 additional DLC characters are slated to join the roster of Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Marvel’s Avengers.

On August 14th, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics hosted a weekend long open beta for the title across the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms.

Access to the closed beta was granted to those who had pre-ordered the title or were customers of Virgin Media (UK) or Verizon (US)., while an open beta was made available to players on the PlayStation 4 platform.

A day into Marvel’s Avengers’ beta, a post on the /r/PlayAvengers subreddit announced that the title had been datamined and provided a link to the entirety of the game’s leaked contents.

According to the leak, the unannounced DLC characters are:

No reference is made to the PS4 exclusive character Spider-Man, though this is unsurprising given that this was a cross-platform beta.

Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, and War Machine were previously leaked through previews for LEGO sets based on the video game, though at the time their status as playable characters or NPCs had not been confirmed:

Hawkeye was later officially confirmed to be joining the title as a downloadable character.

Ant-Man, in the form of Hank Pym, was previously confirmed for an appearance in the title at the 2019 E3 conference:

There is no word on whether the playable Ant-Man will be the Pym or Scott Lang version.
