Demi Lovato Believes Using The Term Aliens When Referring To Extraterrestrials Is Offensive: “Aliens Is A Derogatory Term For Anything”
Demi Lovato is once again making headlines for making a a fairly asinine assumption, this time revealing that they believe using the term alien when referring to extraterrestrials is derogatory in nature.
In a recent interview with Australian entertainment outlet Pedestrian.TV given in promotion of their new NBCUniversal-produced, Peacock-exclusive series Unidentified with Demi Lovato , in which the singer is joined by a friend and their sister as “they search for the truth about the UFO phenomena”, Lovato asserted that they consider the term alien to be offensive.
“Well, I have been a believer my whole life too,” Lovato replied when asked about their new show. “And I just thought, you know, I’m in a position in my career right now where I’m dipping my toes into a lot of different waters. And this was just kind of a natural next step.”
They added, “I wanted to film everything that goes down when I go and search for these UFOs so that my fans can come along for the ride.”
When asked whether there were any common misconceptions about UFOs that bothered Lovato, the woke singer said one such misconception was the idea that aliens are harmful.
“I think the ones that bother me are that they’re harmful or that they’ll come and take over the planet,” said Lovato. “I really think that if there was anything out there that would want to do that to us, it would have happened by now.”
They further explained, “But I think that we have to stop calling them aliens because aliens is a derogatory term for anything. That’s why I like to call them E.T.s! So yeah, that’s a little tidbit. A little information that I learned.”
“I think that the world is becoming a more open place,” Lovato concluded. “Slowly, but surely, I think that we’re making progress. And we’re slowly getting there. But, you know, any progress is progress!”
Bafflingly, Pedestrian.TV has actually opted to conform to Lovato’s asinine idea that the word alien is, in any way, shape, or form, derogatory towards others – including potential beings from outer space – and subsequently begun to refrain from using what they refer to as the “a-word.”
“As per Demi’s guidance, we have refrained from using the A-word in this article as it’s an offensive term, no matter who you’re directing it at,” reads a note added to the article by the Editor. “It’s E.T.s, folks. File that away, please!”
Related: A Month After Attempting To Cancel A Yogurt Shop, Demi Lovato Now Claims To Be Non-Binary
Unsurprisingly, this assertion is far from the first time Lovato’s ridiculous behavior has made headlines this year.
Earlier this year, the singer made headlines for attempting to cancel The Bigg Chill, a frozen yoghurt shop based in Los Angeles, CA – because they offered a wide variety of healthy foods that, according to the singer, promoted eating disorders.
Then, not even a month after the incident with the frozen-yoghurt shop, Lovato revealed that they were non-binary and demanded that people began using the pronouns they/them from then on when addressing them.
“Over the past year and a half, I’ve been doing some healing and self-reflective work,” they declared. “And through this work I’ve had the revelation that I identify as non-binary. With that said I’ll officially be changing my pronouns to they/them.”
Ultimately, expecting others to stop using the word alien when referring to extraterrestrials seems to be nothing more than yet another attempt by Demi Lovato to seek for attention – a practice that is, ironically, fairly alien to most rational thinking human beings.
