Star Wars Rumor: Disney and Lucasfilm Developing Three Mandalorian Spinoff Shows

A new rumor details that Disney and Lucasfilm film are developing three Mandalorian spinoff shows.

The rumor comes from Kessel Run Transmissions, who previously scooped the animated Bad Batch series.

Host Noah Outlaw stated, “Three Mandalorian spinoff shows are in development. That is something that we’ve kind of heard. It hasn’t been officially reported. And we aren’t officially reporting that either. We are just throwing it out there a little bit. Just putting out feelers and stuff like that.”

Corey Van Dyke would then elaborate, “So I put this out very vaguely on Twitter the other day. It wasn’t meant to be a scoop. And I actually even said that in the tweet. That it’s not a scoop. And it still isn’t. But we just share things from time to time that we hear. So this isn’t 100% confirmed. This is a more of a 70% scenario.”

On Twitter Van Dyke wrote, “The Clone Wars was the second most streamed! That means both Mandalorian and The Clone Wars were the most popular shows on any new streaming service in the last 9 months. That is super exciting that both are going to now crossover in a way this October!”

He then added, “The Clone Wars is getting a spin off series in The Bad Batch and 3 “The Mandalorian” spin off shows are in various stages of development from things we’ve heard. I won’t run that as a scoop by any means but it’s something interesting to think about.”

On the YouTube stream Van Dyke continued, “What we’ve heard there are three Mandalorian spinoff shows in development, various stages. What that means is there is a likelihood that some of these might not come to fruition. Some of these may never make it past the development stage or just the talking stages.”

He then stated, “But we can talk about two characters that we’ve heard of and this is something that we’re not the only people who have heard this. I’ve seen this all over so this definitely adds up. Which of course is the Ahsoka spinoff show and the Boba Fett spinoff show.

“We do know the third one, but we can’t say right now because that’s the one we are more getting towards the more 100% feeling for that. So we don’t want to say anything about that just yet. But yea these two shows are in development. And whether or not they happen we’ll see. It sounds like the Ahsoka show is farther in development than the Boba show,” Van Dyke states.

Van Dyke then said, “I kind of wonder if they’re not going to green lit any of them until Season 2 comes out and the reception for all the characters are out there. That’s just everything we’ve heard so far. Nothing to get hyped about. Don’t get your expectations in any sort of way. Because it’s stuff we heard.”

Rumors surrounding an Ahsoka Tano show began circulating following a report from SlashFilm that indicated the character would appear in the second season of The Mandalorian played by Rosario Dawson.

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) would follow that report up detailing in their Heat Vision newsletter, “Rosario Dawson is joining The Mandalorian as Jedi Ahsoka Tano. Slash Film’s Peter Sciretta has the scoop. But here’s the big question: Could this be a backdoor pilot for an Ahsoka series? There are rumors …”

Ahsoka Tano

Less than a month after The Hollywood Reporter stoked the rumor mill, The Direct and Daniel Richtman claimed that “Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano contract is reportedly a multi-show deal.”

They did caution, “This is not a confirmation that Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano will indeed appear in other Disney+ shows, rather, that Lucasfilm is potentially interested in having her character make future appearances in other shows.”

Boba Fett

As for Boba Fett, The Hollywood Reporter scooped that the character would appear in The Mandalorian Season 2 played by Temeura Morrison who previously played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones.

Rumors regarding a spinoff began circulating just days after this report from THR. This time from Andy Signore at FandomWire. He reported, “We can exclusively confirm that even more Boba Fett is in the works.”
