During Monday night’s Gotham Awards, Joker actor Robert De Niro took the opportunity to rant about Apple for editing part of his speech, proceeding to read the segment that had been cut out and going on an anti-Donald Trump tirade anyway.

The Meet the Parents actor claimed, “The beginning of my speech was edited [and] cut out. I didn’t know about it. And I want to read it.”

“Thank you,” he prefaced before declaring, “History isn’t history any more. Truth is not truth. Even facts are being replaced by alternative facts and driven by conspiracy theories and ugliness.

He then claimed, “In Florida, young students are taught that slaves developed skills which could be applied for their personal benefit,” further adding, “The entertainment industry isn’t immune to this festering disease,” before smearing Western legend John Wayne.

“The Duke, John Wayne, famously said of Native Americans, ‘I don’t feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them. There were great numbers of people who needed new land and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves,'” De Niro said before he shifted his attention to Trump.

“Lying has become just another tool in the charlatan’s arsenal,” the actor continued, unfoundedly claiming, “The former president lied to us more than 30 thousand times during his four years in office, and he’s keeping up the pace with his current campaign of retribution.”

He further ranted, “But, with all his lies, he can’t his his soul. He attacks the weak, destroys the gifts of nature, and shows disrespect, for example, by using ‘Pocahontas’ as a slur.” stopping himself to let the audience know that the segment he had just read had been edited out of his speech.

De Niro would then proceed to nag about Apple and their decision to cut out his nonsensical anti-Trump tirade, mockingly going over the rest of the speech and refusing to thank them for giving him a platform.

“So I’m going to say these things but, to Apple… and thank them and all that… Gotham blah, blah, blah, Apple… but… who I don’t feel like thanking them at all for what they did. How dare they do that, actually? But now I will go.”

Robert De Niro is no stranger to go on anti-Trump tirades. In January of 2017, just a few days before President Trump took office, the insufferably woke actor mocked some of the former president’s tweets and went on to say he was a “bad example” for America.

“Just like our founding fathers you can love our country and not love everything about it,” said De Niro during the United We Stand rally against the then-recently elect president. “That’s understandable, you can love your city, as I do, and not love everything about it either.”

He added, “That may have been what I was thinking when I said I wish ‘You Know Who’ would leave this city. I don’t care where [Donald Trump] goes, I just never thought he’d go to Washington. He’s a bad example of this country, this city.”

Just a year later, De Niro went on an unhinged rant in which he not only called Trump names but he also threatened violence against the 45th President of the United States.

“He’s so blatantly stupid,” the actor said of Trump, adding, “He is a punk, he’s a dog, he’s a pig, he’s a con, a bulls—t artist, a mutt who doesn’t know what he’s talking about, doesn’t do his homework, doesn’t care, thinks he’s gaming society, [and] doesn’t pay his taxes.”

He further decried, “He’s an idiot. [ former United States secretary of state Colin Powell] said it best, ‘he’s a national disaster,’ he’s an embarrassment to this country. It makes me so angry that this country has gotten to this point. That this fool, this bozo, has wound up where he has.”

“He talks about how he wants to punch people in the face… well, I’d like to punch him in the face,” the deranged actor threatened.

Of course, to the surprise of no one, De Niro did not bother to check his facts before publicly admitting to wanting to punch the president in the face. In February of 2016, a heckler was causing disturbances and throwing punches during a Las Vegas rally Trump was hosting.

President Trump addressed the situation, pointing out that it in this political climate individuals are not allowed to fight back, even when they’re being physically threatened.

“Bye bye,” said Trump as the hecker was escorted out. “See, he’s smiling. He’s having a good time. I love the old days, you know? You know what I hate? There’s a guy totally disruptive, throwing punches… we’re not allowed to punch back any more.”

The president elaborated, “I love the old days. You know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They’d be carried out on a stretcher, folks. You know, I love our police and I really respect our police, and they’re not getting enough. They’re not.”

“Honestly, I hate to see that,” Trump continued. “Here’s a guy throwing punches, nasty as Hell, screaming at everything else when we’re talking, and, you know, the guards are very gentle with him. He’s walking out like… big high fives, smiling, and laughing. I’d like to punch him in the face, I’ll tell you.”
