More parties are coming forward to challenge Ruby Rose’s claims about toxic working conditions on the Batwoman set.

The first was Warner Bros. TV, who issued a statement refuting Rose’s claims, followed by an extra rebuttal by the show’s Luke Fox/Batwing actor, Camrus Johnson. Now the testimony of a production assistant from season 1 named Alexander J. Baxter have provided detail of even more scandal.

In a statement given to CBR, Baxter asserted that while he was initially excited about the opportunity due to “being a DC fan,” the experience soon went sour.

“Little did I know of the hell that [awaited] me on those sets,” his statement said.

Continuing, Baxter explained everyone was professional and nice – save Rose, who was anything but.

“The production company was professional, dialed in, and in every way fantastic,” he said. “The crew was lovely, hard-working and dedicated to countless night shoots, it sounded to be an amazing experience in the making.”

However, he added, “Then came Ruby Rose. From day one, where her supposed injury stopped her from doing 60% of her job, she began her first day on the show not acknowledging a single [crew member] besides anyone above the line.”

Baxter further alleges that Rose treated PA’s, grips, and crew “below the line” like they “were beneath her boots,” despite the fact that they were working long hours and she was allegedly failing to memorize her lines or show up on time.

“She stormed off set, she yelled at people, and whenever she interacted with any of us production assistants, we were disregarded as the trash we picked up,” Baxter continued.

He then recalled two incidents: one where Rose giggled at the crew for setting up heaters and a snack table in her green room per her special request, and then another when she spilled some food, looked at Baxter, walked on, and left him to clean it up.

“That is what it felt like working beneath Ruby: cleaning up her mess,” his statement commiserates. “She never thanked us, she only made demands that left us all exhausted emotionally and physically.”

It’s at this point Baxter called Rose a dictator, but – in a shocking twist – he reveals she was also busy “getting high on all assortments of drugs” with a friend of hers on the days she was exorbitantly late by eight hours.

“She didn’t care how long we waited for her and made sure everything was perfect and ready, she just cared about her personal party lifestyle,” Baxter said. “From the moment we started the show she made every new person that came on uneasy and unsupported. She was a horrible star and made so many of us feel like we were helping make a show for a dictator.”

When Rose went public with her accusations, Baxter was “infuriated…because having been there, I don’t wanna stand by and let her badmouth a company that she tried to screw over.”

Rose previously argued that the work environment on the set of Batwoman was unsafe, pointing to both her own neck injury and the apparent paralyzation of a PA who was injured during shooting (and received no compensation from WB), as proof. She also claimed a stuntman got so badly burned his face melted off.

Warner issued their own statement countering that Rose’s charges are “revisionist history” and that she was let go after multiple complaints of her misbehavior were quietly investigated and found to hold water.

Camrus Johnson backed up that side of the story when he tweeted that Rose was, in fact fired (which takes a lot for it to happen to a lead actor), and claimed that her accusations were nothing more than lies.
